Artist Spotlight: Laurie Lipton

I distinctively remember the first time I saw Laurie’s work. I was blown away by the detail she had created using just pencil, the picture I had seen was her 2004 piece Lady Death. Ever since I discovered her work I have followed her career and have always been extremely drawn to the depictions of death – her skull work in particular. Here I would like to introduce her work to you, you may know her or this may be someone new to you, either way I want to share with you my favourite pieces.

As a bit of background here Laurie was born in New York and began her artistic journey at the tender age of four and was the first person to graduate from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pennsylvania with a Fine Arts Degree in Drawing (with honours). After many years of living in various countries she has now settled in Los Angeles.

Let me introduce you to Laurie Lipton.
