Always pulling in a large crowd, Paradise Lost are certainly back with a bang bringing Lucifer and Tribulation in tow –a threesome not to be messed with if the night at the Koko is anything to go by.
Lucifer have quite the following, the Berlin/London based heavy doom rock band certainly live up to their demonic name with their thick and heavy sound- a good start to a rather dark evening that was about to launch itself over Camden.
Tribulation is a band that combines the gothic with horror so their live show was going to be something pretty special. As the smell of incense floats through the air, their faces painted like corpses of the damned – the show was certainly heavy enough to shatter your rib cage but beautifully dark in its execution. This show may have just may have gained them a lot more fans.
Finally, Paradise Lost take to the stage with some classics such as “Gothic” and “Widow” with some new material thrown in the mix to prove just how their repertoire rocked back then and that they can still pull it off to this day. It’s great to think that a band can go on for many years and never lose their mojo – tonight certainly proved that they are still very much leaders of the doom scene.
